Sport utility vehicles have become a staple in the automotive market. It is difficult to not pass an SUV or two while on the road, and it is not hard to see the allure of these vehicles. They are stylish, family-friendly models, able to hold the same number of passengers as the anachronic minivan. SUVs are also sturdy machines, able to tow as well as any pickup.
If you are interested in becoming a member of the SUV-owning family, then we encourage you to look at the GMC Acadia. The Acadia is the perfect fit as it sits between the quaint Terrain and the larger Yukon. While not as big as the Yukon or other larger SUVs, the Acadia holds its own by having a roomy interior for seven. With smooth lines and excellent styling, it is easy to fall for the GMC Acadia. If you would like to know more about the Acadia, then come visit us at Bob Brady Buick GMC in Forsyth, IL.
The 2022 GMC Acadia comes with several new features with the addition of once optional driver assistance features that now come standard on all trims. GMC also streamlined the model with the removal of the SL trim and the 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine. The exterior of the Acadia combines ruggedness with refinement. GMC adds two packages (Elevation and Denali Ultimate), which add black grille inserts, black mirror endcaps, black wheels, among others.
The interior of the Acadia remains spacious with seating for up to seven people. It has plenty of storage throughout the cabin with large under-console storage, a second-row stage drawer in the rear of the center console, and under-floor cargo area storage.
The 2022 Acadia base engine is a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that generates 228 horsepower, with an upgradable option to the 310-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 engine. The trims come standard with a nine-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.
Introduced to the public in 2006 for the 2007 model year, the Acadia was advertised by GM as a crossover SUV and had the first unibody frame for GMC. With its appearance into the automotive market, the Acadia replaced both GMC Envoy and Safari van. Over the years, the Acadia has received updates including a partially redesigned 2013 year model. Over the years, the Acadia has garnered more safety and amenity features. While the Acadia is only into its second generation, we expect to see great things to come for this SUV.
