As far as the engine is concerned, the 2019 GMC Canyon provides plenty of options. First of all, there’s a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that produces 200 hp and 191 lb-ft of torque. This engine is offered with the SL trim and is paired to a six-speed manual transmission. In addition to this, there’s a 3.6-liter V6 engine that delivers 308 hp and 275 lb-ft of torque. This engine comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission and is offered with the SLT trim level. There’s also an optional engine for the SLT trim: a turbocharged 2.8-liter four-cylinder diesel that delivers 181 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. This engine comes paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.
